SUPPORTING RESEARCH ON

CHILD, TEEN, and YOUNG ADULT:

BEHAVIOR, COGNITION, EMOTION, and REGULATION

What we do

The ABC-ERICA Lab is interested in furthering the understanding of a multitude of behavior problems of childhood and adolescence.  These problems include those that involve disruptions in behavior, cogntion, and emotion.

To date, we have examined children with ADHD, anxiety disorders, callous/unemotional behavior, cannabis abuse, conduct disorder, oppositional definant disorder, and pediatric obesity, as well as healthy, typically developing children and teens.

We call ourselves the ABC-ERICA Lab, in part, because our director is

Erica D. Musser, Ph.D., but more importantly because we:

Assess Behavior, Cognition, and Emotion Regulation In

Children and Adolescents.

Thus, we are the ABC-ERICA Lab.

Latest projects

Our current projects include studies of childhood ADHD, disruptive behavior problems, and teen cannabis abuse.

All of our projects take a multi-method approach, using behavioral rating scales, computer-based laboratory tasks, interaction tasks, interviews, and measures of physiological functioning to explore the development of typical and atypical behavioral, cognitive, and emotional regulation.

ABC-ERICA Lab is housed in the Center for Children and Families, Florida International University
